Mayfly Outdoors was one of 50 businesses statewide named 2017 Colorado Companies to Watch. President David Dragoo, who attended the reception Friday (6-23-17) in Denver with Sandy Head, Montrose Economic Development Corporation’s (MEDC) Executive Director, and others, said that Mayfly’s relationship with the community was very important.”
Colorado Companies to Watch is an awards program honoring second-stage companies “that develop valuable products and services, create quality jobs, enrich communities and create new industries throughout Colorado.” MEDC nominated Mayfly for the award because they meet all of this and more. Mayfly’s business park, the Colorado Outdoors Project, will begin with their 35,000-square-foot building which will be the first development in the park.
Sandy Head, said Mayfly’s Colorado Outdoors Project will be beneficial to the local area as it will bring new opportunities to Montrose. The State of Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade has sent us several prospects that could be potential candidates for this development.”
Mayfly Vice President Craig Baker stated, “We’re absolutely thrilled to be a winner in 2017.” “It’s very special to us,” David Dragoo said.
Sandy Head explained. “The Dragoos have brought a new energy to an established company, Ross Reels, and added the Abel Reel line to the company; they are progressive thinkers and are engaged in the community. That is the type of element that makes Montrose a special community. We work together to accomplish goals.”
