Montrose Regional Health
For 75 years, Montrose Regional Health (MRH) has been the cornerstone of healthcare in the Montrose region, providing advanced medical technology and compassionate care. What began as a small community hospital in 1950 has evolved into a comprehensive regional health system, offering a wide range of services to meet the needs of Montrose and surrounding communities. Today, MRH employs over 900 caregivers, with adding 200+ new jobs in the last three years – with salaries, benefits and wages totaling over $83 million annually— making a substantial impact on the region’s health and economy.
In recent years, MRH's growth has accelerated—driving significant investment in the community and creating access to services. The hospital opened an 80,000 square foot Ambulatory Care Center (ACC) focused on outpatient care, services that doesn’t require an overnight stay.
Imaging at River Landing, opened in 2025, offering state-of-the-art technology, including the Cartesion Prime Digital PET/CT Machine and the Siemens 1.5 Tesla Magnetom Altea MRI, providing exceptionally detailed imagery. The River Landing Surgery Center focuses on providing same-day surgical care to patients with added convenience. The surgery center specializes in outpatient procedures.
MRH has broadened its reach to neighboring communities. New clinics have been established in Cortez, Delta, Gunnison, and Telluride.
Over the last three years, MRH has successfully recruited 93 providers—a testament to the hospital’s commitment to meeting the growing healthcare needs of the region. This number includes advanced practice providers and physicians that MRH has helped recruit to other practices within the community.
MRH partnered with the San Juan Healthcare Foundation to create the Montrose Regional Health Foundation. This partnership aims to enhance healthcare access and fund critical initiatives like medical technology, scholarships for healthcare students, and the growth of MRH's infrastructure.
